DJ Icey "Different Day" Album Review

A step in the different direction
For all you Icey fans who are used to hearing more upbeat danceable breaks, this album will definetly surprise you. This is more chilled out, mellow style breaks and most people wont understand the message behind this album.Allow me to explain. The whole purpose of this cd was to let his fans know that he was permanently coming down and cleaning up his act, while changing his music style.I have to give him an A for effort and you should too, check it out why dontcha. If you like dance music, chances are you'll like this, get it

Air Liquide "Let Your Ears Be the Receiver" Album Review

Air Liquide goes house...sort of
Wow, Air Liquide has made a CD for the clubs! As much as I like Air Liquide's cerebral approach to electronic music, their material can get a little abstract and inaccessible at times. On this disc, however, they seem to have made a concerted effort to dumb things down and play with more mainstream dance beats, with pretty catchy results. It's kinda like if Doestoyevsky tried to write a Harlequin romance novel... all the formulaic elements are there (house beats, disco strings, the guest hip hop vocalists, etc.) but the artist's genius and originality still manages to shine through. Definitely a worthwhile purchase; I also love the warning printed on the album cover that this CD contains cheezy house beats and disco strings! One gets the impression they're not taking this outing too seriously, but it works.

Anthony Rother "Popkiller" Album Review

Electrospective
Nice album! Not so commercial as many electro albums that came out at the same time.
Musics are not so catchy. You have to listen sometimes before you place it as one of the bests you know.
I found it very introspective, so I usually listen to it while working.
****
