ADJD "Chronicles of the Urban Dwellers" Album Review

Album Description
<B><I>Chronicles of the Urban Dwellers </B></i>is the follow-up to <B>ADJD</B>'s debut album <B><I>Quarter of a Century</B></i>, released in 2000. For everyone that cannot resist a driving bassline, this new album provides all of their "<B>Poker Flat </B>style" productions that made them one of the hottest acts to follow in 2001. <P><P> ADJD's trademark sound is building dark and subliminally sexy house atmospheres. The two Stockholm/New York-based producers (aka <B>Alexi Delano and Jesper Dahlbäck</B>) got to know each other while selling records to scenesters back in the 90s and got their gear together only a few years ago. Under difficult circumstances, the two strove together even as Alexi moved to New York. Nevertheless, they found enough time to get together for some explosive studio sessions that culminate in heavy house workouts that ooze sex and mystery. <P><P> "I Want You" and "Catch Me In The Dark" are two prime examples of their use of explicit vocals that'll leave heated dancers gasping for more; and prove their pristine house productions pay respect to classic acid house as well as the darker, clubbier Chicago-style of days gone by. Hotter and more intense than ever; it's time to celebrate the sound evolution of ADJD!

Cristian Vogel "Busca Invisibles" Album Review

Wonderfully strange
Cristian Vogel has transcended the label of techno with this one. Certainly more experimental than the majority of what's hit the market from Tresor, Buscas Invisibles runs the gamut from banging tracks to more unusual, slower material. Either way, it all makes use of the fat, analogue sounds which generally characterize his work. Vogel is one to keep an eye on as his music continually improves.

Ken Ishii "Sleeping Madness" Album Review

Smooth Grooves
Ishii progresses with his clean cut Techno style buy adding a variety of different sounds via Talvin Singh, DJ Spooky, Co-Fusion and Deckwreaka. The basis is still very much in the techno school with the extra sounds showing intelligent innovation. The extra 3" Cd has two nice tracks if you feel like splashing out the extra Cash.
